Nemo Was a Good Fish...

(Not actual photo of Nemo)
Carrasius auratus
Our family has experienced its first loss today. Owen's beloved goldfish, Nemo, has gone to the big fishbowl in the sky. We're not quite sure what took him, our neighbors fish-sat for us while we were out of town for the weekend (an unfortunate coincidence) and he just didn't seem right when we got home. I have to admit I am a little glad that we don't have to find him a home when we move next month. Fortunately, Owen doesn't seem to be too heartbroken. We told him that he went to live with Heavenly Father and he seemed to be satisfied with that answer. Rand made a little soapbox coffin for him and he and Owen buried him under a nice pine tree in the backyard (we weren't sure what would happen if we flushed him down our septic). Rand must have said Rest in Peace or something like that because I heard Owen saying when they were coming back into the house, "Nemo's just gonna take a very, long rest." Hopefully he will take the death of any future pets just as well :0) We can only hope, right?

That is so funny...I wish our fish would take a very long rest. We've had him since last october. I thought they weren't suppose to live very long...oh! Maybe I need a good neighbor to look after him for awhile!! :)

Rest in peace, Nemo. Perhaps the thought of moving to Germany was too traumatic. Good timing, huh? Maybe later you'll replace Nemo with a beagle pup...eh?
