It's amazing how much effect one little volcano can have on so many lives. We have many friends who have been stuck all over Europe and in the US because of Iceland's volcanic eruption. Rand was at a conference in San Diego and was stuck in Philadelphia last Sunday. Fortunately, my family is close enough that they were able to go and pick him up and he was able to spend the week with them. We hope tonight he will be getting on a plane so that we can pick him up tomorrow. Thank you Dad, Mom and Charlie for all you did this week to help us out, we cannot thank you enough. Love you guys so much!

Too bad we didn't know! We're only 45 minutes from Philly. Hope you guys are all safe and back together. It bites when your hubby can't get back home on time!

I can't wait until you guys are together again. What a long conference that turned out to be.

Dear Rand, unlike Sean, I will remain bitter that I am 90 minutes away and did not get a phone call.

OK - In all seriousness, glad you got home ok, and glad you were able to spend quality time with the in-laws, but seriously, next time, email or call - I totally would have burned a PTO day....

I had no idea Rand was stuck in the US this whole time. I bet that was frustrating for you. Glad he had a place to go. It would have been a bummer to be stuck somewhere for a week and not see anyone.
