Howdy Partner!

Today we had Owen's birthday party. A few days early I know but my mom and stepdad will be in town next weekend and we are taking the kids to the circus. Owen told me a couple months ago that he wanted to be like Woody (the cowboy from Toy Story) for his birthday so we decided on a cowboy themed party. I totally broke my rule of only inviting the number of kids the age that they are turning. I think I was feeling bad that this will be his last birthday here in NC and he has so many good little friends from church and preschool. I borrowed a vest pattern from my friend Jen and made him a little cow print vest. He was so excited to dress up and has been wearing his costume all day. Most of his friends came dressed up too (I meant to take a picture of the group and forgot). They played Pin the Badge on the Sheriff, Rattlesnake Ruckus (version of hot potato with a rubber snake), and pillow sack races. I think the kids had a good time and we were able to keep the chaos to a minimum. We finished the party with presents, Donut cake and ice cream. Owen even helped sing Happy Birthday to himself. If you're not sure what Donut cake is I will explain. We have a fabulous local bakery in Sanford called Sandra's Bakery that make the most delicious donuts. They have what is called a donut hole tree where they stack the donut holes like a little pyramid and drizzle it with icing. It is seriously to die for. Thanks to all of our friends that came it was a fun morning. Here are a few pictures from the day.
