Exploring our new surroundings

Many of you may know that we separated from the army this summer and moved to Colorado Springs for Rand to take a job in a private practice. We are really loving this city and living close to the mountains again. It has also been great to see our family more often and are just a days drive from Rand's parents in Utah. We have an awesome view of Pike's Peak (the 14,000 foot mountain above Colorado Springs) from our front yard.

Almost every day this summer, we would get an afternoon rainstorm that would roll in around 4 o'clock and with it we would almost always have a beautiful rainbow when the sun came out again.

With a new baby we didn't explore a lot this summer but fortunately have some beautiful places close by that we were able to visit. Our favorite so far is a place called Garden of the Gods that consists of some beautiful red rock formations and even better it is free to walk around the park.
My brother, Micah, his son, Aaron and Evie.
Family picture minus Grace (who was sleeping in the stroller).

These rock formations are very striking among the green foliage.

We also visited a place called the Manitou Cliff Dwellings that the kids enjoyed exploring and visiting the small museum that taught them about the Native American tribe that lived there.

We are having a lot of fun here so far and can't wait for visitors!

Love Garden of the Gods too. Colorado is the best place to live on earth! If you are ever passing through, give us a holler! WE are right off I-70.

I went horseback riding in the Garden of the Gods one time...and LOVED it. Such a beautiful place. I'm jealous you are in such a beautiful area!

Hope to see you soon...will you be in Utah over Thanksgiving?
