Caught Red Handed

No, a murder was not committed in our dining room although I was pushed pretty close tonight.

Apparently while I was nursing Evie and putting her to bed, Owen decided to help himself to my craft paint that I left on the dining table for a project I was going to work on later tonight. My fault for trusting a 3 & 1/2 year old to his own devices for 10 minutes. I first saw the handprint on the window and as I was wondering what it was and where it came from, I heard a sinister giggle come from the other room. It registered that it was paint and I looked down under the table and almost hyperventilated when I saw a HUGE puddle of Very Red paint on the rug. I ran into our family room where I noticed 4 pristine red handprints on our couch. Owen of course was hiding behind the couch, aware that he was in fact in big trouble. After I cleaned off his red hand and one red foot, I tried to calmly (as I possibly could) explain that he could not play with Mommy's paint.

Fortunately it was bedtime anyway so I could clean up without any distractions.
The only saving grace is that most of the paint was on an area rug that we have under the table so the carpet was saved. Surprisingly, I can laugh a little about it now and it's only been 2 hours! So much for a relaxing evening.

I love the blog. That is so funny about the red paint. Your lucky you were gone only 10 min. Imagine what else would have been painted if you were gone longer.
